WASHINGTON – U.S. Secretary of the Interior David Bernhardt praised President Donald J. Trump’s Proclamation declaring June as Great Outdoors Month for the third straight year. Great Outdoors Month reiterates the commitment that the U.S. Department of the Interior under the Trump Administration has made to expand access to the nation's public lands for all citizens. Secretary Bernhardt's statement is below:

"As President Trump has proclaimed June Great Outdoors Month, I implore all Americans to explore and enjoy our vast public lands. Families and friends can find inspiration in the grand vistas and valleys of Yosemite, traverse the most magnificent ecosystem in the world in the Florida Everglades, or find adventure and fun in the hundreds of parks, refuges, and other historic treasures in between. Whether it's providing fishing programs for youth and other novice anglers, building and improving hundreds of miles of trails, or working with state and local partners to open new areas to hunting, boating, and other outdoor recreational activities, we are committed to continuing to provide all citizens with more and better opportunities to experience our nation’s iconic places."
