Annual Ethics Training Online Course Now Open on DOI Talent!

Attention all DOI employees! The Annual Ethics Training online course is now open on DOI Talent and is also offered LIVE in person or via Zoom Webinar. This year’s online course is an innovative 3-episode radio drama, As the Ethics World Turns!  You only need to complete one course – either the online course or the live course – to fulfill this important ethics requirement.

Federal law mandates that DOI employees who file an annual financial disclosure report complete Annual Ethics Training. In addition, certain other employees may be required to complete Annual Ethics Training because of their duties and responsibilities.  All DOI employees are welcome to complete Annual Ethics Training, but please note that employees of certain DOI Bureaus or Offices may have to complete alternate or supplemental training to meet their mandatory ethics training requirements.  Please consult with your Deputy Ethics Counselor if you have any questions about whether As the Ethics World Turns will meet your annual ethics training requirement.

As the Ethics World Turns is now active on DOI Talent, and you may complete the course when it is most convenient for you!

To access the online course, follow these instructions:

1. Go to DOI Talent.
2. Click on the tab at the top called “Find Learning.”
3. Search for the course name “DEO 2023 Annual Ethics Training (AET) Online”
4. Click “Go to Course” and watch the Annual Ethics Training Video.
5. Download the 2023 Annual Ethics Training Supplemental Materials, the additional resources for your Bureau or Office (if applicable) and take the quiz.  (There is an optional brief feedback survey and it would be great if you complete that too.)
6. Access your completion certificate!

If you prefer, you can attend the LIVE version of As the Ethics World Turns, which will be offered in-person in the John Muir Room of the Main Interior Building (MIB), and via Zoom Webinar for remote attendees. The LIVE training course will be held at 2:00 p.m. ET on the following dates:

• June 8, 2023
• July 13, 2023
• August 10, 2023
• September 14, 2023
• October 12, 2023

No prior registration is required if you decide to attend the LIVE training in person. Just come to the John Muir Room in the MIB, sign in, and your attendance will be recorded. If you are not working in the MIB but still want to attend a LIVE training via Zoom, follow the directions below to watch the training live on Zoom and to get credit for completing the course.

1. Go to DOI Talent.
2. Click on the tab at the top called “Find Learning."
3. Search for the course name “DEO 2023 Annual Ethics Training (AET) (Webinars)”
4. Click “Go to Course” and sign up for the live webinar on whichever date you would like to attend.
5. After the training is complete, download the 2023 Annual Ethics Training Supplemental Materials, the additional resources for your Bureau or Office (if applicable) and take the quiz.  (There is an optional brief feedback survey and it would be great if you complete that too.)
6. Access your completion certificate!

The deadline for employees who are required to complete Annual Ethics Training is October 31, 2023!
