A Monument's Eye View of Inauguration Day Visitors

David Barna, National Park Service's Chief of Public Affairs, took this gallery of images from the top of the Washington Monument at noon on Inauguration Day, as President Barack Obama delivered his Inaugural address. The event drew an estimated 1.8 million visitors to the National Mall , which is administered by the National Park Service.
