Public Hearing Announced for Fisheries Special Action Request FSA23-02: Yukon River Chinook, Summer and Fall Chum, and Coho Salmon Fisheries

A public hearing is scheduled from 4:00 p.m.—6:00 p.m., or until the end of public participation, on May 4, 2023, by teleconference, to receive public testimony on a fisheries special action request FSA23-02.

Temporary Fisheries Special Action Request FSA23-02 was submitted by a resident of Rampart, Alaska, and requests the Federal Subsistence Board (Board) to:

•    Close Federal public waters of the Yukon River drainage, to the harvest of Chinook, summer and fall Chum, and Coho salmon except by federally qualified subsistence users from June 1 through September 30, 2023
•    Require Federal subsistence fishing schedules, openings, closures, and fishing methods be determined by the Federal Fisheries Manager
A public hearing to receive testimony on FSA23-02 is scheduled as follows:
