Deputy Chief Financial Officer and Office of Financial Management Director

Brent Stevenson

Brent Stevenson is the acting Deputy Chief Financial Officer for the Department of the Interior and the acting Director of the Office of Financial Management.

Prior to assuming this role, Mr. Stevenson served as the acting Associate Director of the Interior Business Center’s Financial Management Directorate (FMD). In that capacity, he oversaw the delivery of accounting operations, financial systems implementation, travel and charge card services, and other critical financial management functions supporting more than seventy customers across the Department of the Interior and other federal agencies.

Mr. Stevenson began his professional career in public accounting as an auditor before transitioning to federal service with the Defense Finance and Accounting Service (DFAS). He joined the Interior Business Center in 2011 and has since served in several supervisory positions within the Accounting Operations Services Division and FMD’s Program Support Office. Before becoming the acting Associate Director of FMD, Mr. Stevenson served for over four years as the Directorate’s Deputy Director, providing operational leadership for FMD’s 17 service lines.

Mr. Stevenson holds a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license and earned both his Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Accounting from Ball State University.
