Southern Plains Indian Museum Announces the Opening of Talrick Enjady: Bold Traditions 

ANADARKO, OK:  The Southern Plains Indian Museum, administered by the U.S. Department of the Interior, Indian Arts and Craft Board, announces the opening of Talrick Enjady:Bold Traditions, a new exhibition celebrating the work of Mescalero Apache artist Talrick Enjady.  The exhibition features a selection of paintings showcasing Talrick’s artistic vision and will be on view from August 7 through October 16, 2026. 

Talrick was raised immersed in Apache customs and traditions which fostered his deep respect for Apache cultural values and practices that have been passed down through generations.  During Talrick’s formative years his parents, Tommy and Angelita Enjady, recognized his inherent creativity and encouraged the development of his artistic skills.  He conveys these traditions, experiences, and community values of his upbringing onto his canvases. 

His creative process allows each piece to take shape through experimentation by first sketching on canvas and then adding design work to determine the direction of the artwork.  Talrick next adds his subjects, creating each with enhanced silhouettes and carefully selected color for dynamic perspectives.  His work incorporates acrylics, graphite, watercolor, pastel, and charcoal. Connecting his art and community, he also uses natural paints from local sources.  While Talrick categorizes his paintings as traditional, he invites viewers to experience a bold and unique view of Apache culture. 

Crediting the support of his family, as well as self-motivation, Talrick transitioned to a career as a full-time artist in 2022.  He has a set of five paintings in the Amerind Museum, Dragoon, Arizona, and paintings in both the Mountain Arts Gallery and Tanner Tradition in Ruidoso, New Mexico.  He is excited to show his work at the Southern Plains Indian Museum.
