JEMCO Meets in Honolulu, Approves Fiscal Year 2010 Budget for Compact Sector Grant Funding

The annual bilateral meetings between the U.S. and Federated States of Micronesia through the Joint Economic Management Committee (JEMCO) met on September 1st and 2nd in Honolulu, Hawaii, and approved over $80 million in Compact sector grant funding.

The Director of Insular Affairs, Nikolao Pula, chaired the meetings on behalf of the U.S. Government along with Alcy Frelick of the Department of State, Dr. Nadine Gracia of Health and Human Services and Secretary of Foreign Affairs Lorin Robert and Evelyn Adolph of the FSM.

In conjunction with the JEMCO, a quarterly Trust Fund committee meeting was held.  The U.S. JEMCO board members also sit on the Trust Fund Board with Fabian Nimea and Evelyn Adolph of the FSM.
