ANCHORAGE, Alaska – The Federal Subsistence Board is accepting written comments through July 31, 2026, on proposed changes to Federal subsistence fish and shellfish regulations. These proposed changes could affect Federal subsistence open seasons, harvest limits, and methods and means for the taking of fish and shellfish for the 2027–2028 regulatory years and customary and traditional use determinations.

Copies of the proposals can be found at www.doi.gov/subsistence/fisheries or by contacting the Office of Subsistence Management at (800) 478-1456 or (907) 786-3888. 

Comments must reference the proposal number and should be emailed to the Office of Subsistence Management at: subsistence@ios.doi.gov. Those without email access can mail comments to the address below, or fax to (907) 786-3898.

The public is also welcome to provide oral or written comments at the applicable Regional Advisory Council meeting(s) being held September through October 2026, or oral comments at the Federal Subsistence Board meeting in February 2027.
