Today, the Department of the Interior and the U.S. Department of Agriculture Forest Service announced federal wildland firefighters and dispatchers now have access to expanded mental health support through a nationwide network of licensed providers. As mandated by Congress, the new therapy service is designed to address the unique needs of emergency responders.

U.S. Secretary of the Interior Doug Burgum and U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Brooke L. Rollins signed a joint memo on wildfire preparedness, ensuring our two Departments are working in close coordination this fire season. The departments will work across President Trump’s cabinet and with our trusted state, local, and tribal partners to ensure our nation’s wildland firefighting system is highly coordinated and focused on fighting wildfires quickly and effectively.
