The Trump Administration designate the Hermitage Hotel in Nashville, Tennessee, a National Historic Landmark for its role as a critical centerpiece and headquarters for the women’s suffrage movement.

Secretary Bernhardt, Senior Advisor to the President Ivanka Trump and Assistant Secretary - Indian Affairs Tara Katuk Sweeney established the first of seven offices dedicated to solving cold cases involving missing and murdered American Indians and Alaska Natives.

America unequivocally loves its national parks and public lands. For decades, each President and members of Congress talked about how much they care about these lands, but have not been willing to do much more than talk.

Secretary Bernhardt traveled to New Hampshire and Massachusetts, discussed offshore wind projects and conducted a site inspection of the Great Bay National Wildlife Refuge.

The NPS is issuing a right-of-way for a pipeline in a transportation corridor within a non-wilderness area in the Denali National Park and Preserve, reducing the need for additional roads and their associated impacts.

Last October, the Department’s U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and Bureau of Reclamation, alongside the National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS), announced the completion of new endangered species plans for coordinated operations of the federal Central Valley Project (CVP) and the State Water Project (SWP).

The proposed Ambler Road will provide the access necessary for the development and production of critical minerals to further the national security interests of the United States.

The legislation will use royalties from offshore oil and gas drilling to provide up to $1.9 billion a year for five years to repair critical facilities and infrastructure in our national parks, forests, wildlife refuges, recreation areas and American Indian schools. It will also permanently fund the Land and Water Conservation Fund to the tune of $900 million a year to invest in conservation and recreation opportunities across the country. 

President Trump directed the Interagency Task Force to submit a report that proposes options for the creation of a National Garden of American Heroes, including potential locations for the site, within 60 days of the issuance.

The funding through the National Park Service will provide critical support for the continued operation, maintenance and security of the memorial and museum.
