The Department of the Interior announced today more than 5,000 landowners with fractional interests at the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa Indians Reservation have been sent more than $7 million in purchase offers from the Land Buy-Back Program for Tribal Nations. Landowners who received offers in July have until September 10, 2021, to consider and return accepted offers in the pre-paid postage envelopes provided. 

In March 2021, the Land Buy-Back Program for Tribal Nations mailed approximately $11 million in offers to purchase fractional interests from more than 3,500 landowners at the Spirit Lake Reservation in North Dakota.

The Department of the Interior announced today that the Land Buy-Back Program for Tribal Nations mailed approximately $30 million in purchase offers to more than 2,000 landowners with fractional interests at the Standing Rock Indian Reservation in North and South Dakota.

Today, the Office of the Special Trustee for American Indians announced the addition of five locations to the implementation schedule of the Land Buy-Back Program for Tribal Nations (Program) as well as operational changes for those locations.

In September 2019, the Land Buy-Back Program for Tribal Nations mailed nearly $2.1 million in purchase offers to nearly 2,900 owners of fractional land interests at the Fond du Lac Reservation in Minnesota.  

The Department of the Interior announced today that approximately 1,500 landowners with fractional interests at the Bois Forte Reservation in Minnesota have been sent nearly $3.5 million in purchase offers from the Land Buy-Back Program for Tribal Nations.

In June and July 2019, the Land Buy-Back Program for Tribal Nations mailed more than $140 million in purchase offers to more than 18,000 owners of fractional land interests at the Navajo Nation.

Principal Deputy Special Trustee for American Indians Jerry Gidner announced today that the Department of the Interior has signed a cooperative agreement with the Navajo Nation to guide implementation of the Land Buy-Back Program for Tribal Nations at the Navajo Nation. 

In April 2019, the Land Buy-Back Program for Tribal Nations mailed more than $47 million in purchase offers to more than 7,000 owners of fractional land interests at the Fort Peck Indian Reservation. 

The Department of the Interior announced today that nearly 3,000 landowners with fractional interests at the Fort Belknap Indian Reservation in Montana have been sent more than $27 million in purchase offers from the Land Buy-Back Program for Tribal Nations.
