Local wildlife and migratory birds benfit from a NRDAR Turstee project, led by FWS in the lower Coeur d'Alene Basin.
The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Bureau of Land Management, U.S. Forest Service, Coeur d'Alene Tribe, and the State of Idaho have settled for $1,687,500 in damages for injury to natural resources. The injuries to natural resources resulted from the release of contaminants at Operable Unit 3 (Coeur d'Alene Basin) of the Bunker Hill Mining and Metallurgical Complex Superfund Site in northern Idaho. The settlement funds will be used by the natural resource trustees for restoration of the injured natural resources. The Consent Decree with the Atlantic Richfield Company was entered into the Court and signed on January 13, 2011.
