Interior Signs Memorandum of Agreement with Tennessee Department of Environment & Conservation

On September 14, Interior’s Natural Resource Damage Assessment and Restoration Program signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the State of Tennessee’s Department of Environment & Conservation. The MOA addresses natural resources within the boundaries of the State of Tennessee commonly held in trust by Department of the Interior and the State.
The purpose of the MOA is to promote coordination and cooperation among the State and federal natural resource trustees with the primary goals of ensuring the restoration of injured natural resources and seeking compensation for public losses caused by discharges of oil or releases of hazardous substances.
