Unit 6D Subarea RG 242 Within Prince William Sound is closed to the Harvest of Federal Subsistence Mountain Goats

Cordova, Alaska – August 24, 2022 – Cordova District Ranger Steve Namitz, under authority delegated by the Federal Subsistence Board, is closing the Unit 6D subarea RG 242 to additional harvest of Federal Subsistence Mountain Goats.
The closure will be effective immediately. Based on harvest reports, the quota for subunit GR 242 has been met. A map and description of the closed area is available from the Cordova Ranger District. Information on Federal subsistence management actions can be found at https://www.fs.usda.gov/news/chugach/news-events.
The remaining Unit 6D Subareas (RG-243, RG-244-45, RG 249, RG-266, RG-252) will remain open until quotas are met and or end of season (February 28, 2023).
