Acquisition and Contracting

The Appraisal and Valuation Services Office (AVSO) partners with the Interior Business Center, Acquisition Services Directorate (AQD) to provide best-in-class land appraisal acquisition services and procure other products, equipment, and services for our customers and clients.

AVSO and AQD staff are poised to provide professional contracting services. To conduct business with AVSO and AQD, vendors must be registered with Dun and Bradstreet (D&B) and in the System for Award Management (SAM). To accomplish this, entities should do the following:

  • Registration is a two-step process that requires a vendor to register at D&B. 
    • Note: It may take several days to obtain a 12-character alphanumeric Unique Entity ID (generated by SAM.gov).
  • Once a Unique Entity ID is obtained, interested vendors must also register in SAM to become eligible to receive federal contracts.  
    • Registration in SAM may take several weeks after verification of your Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN) by the Internal Revenue Service. For more information on registering, you are encouraged to visit the SAM site.

Please note there is no cost to register at either D&B or SAM. There are, however, third-party companies that will assist you to register—for a cost. We recommend registering on your own; however, the decision rests with you.
