International Technical Assistance Program

The U.S. Department of the Interior’s International Technical Assistance Program (DOI-ITAP) enables DOI to influence and engage counterparts overseas to advance Administration priorities. DOI-ITAP operating expenses, salaries and benefits are fully funded by other U.S. federal agencies. Working closely with DOI's bureaus and offices, DOI-ITAP has worked in over 100 countries on:

  • Mining 
  • Oil & Gas   
  • Counter Wildlife Trafficking
  • Water Management
  • Protected Area Management
  • Natural Disaster Mitigation and Response
