The Department of the Interior’s U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the Department of Commerce’s National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s National Marine Fisheries Service have finalized three rules that will restore important protections for species and their habitats; strengthen the processes for listing species, designating of critical habitat, and consultation with other federal agencies; and ensure a science-based approach that will improve both agencies’ ability to fulfill their responsibilities under the Endangered Species Act.

Interior Department Invests Nearly $11 Million from President Biden’s Investing in America Agenda to Restore Lands and Waters

The Department of the Interior today announced a nearly $11 million investment from President Biden’s Investing in America agenda to restore our nation’s lands and water through 29 locally led, landscape-scale restoration projects across 18 states and the District of Columbia. The investment from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law builds on more than $157 million announced last month. With today’s announcement, over half a billion from section 40804 of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law has now been committed for ecosystem restoration under the Biden-Harris administration.
