DOI FOIA Annual Reports

The Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requires each federal agency to submit an Annual Report to the Attorney General each year.  In addition, the FOIA requires each agency to post a human-readable and NIEM-XML version of their Annual FOIA Report, as well as a raw data version of the Annual FOIA Report. See 5 U.S.C. § 552(e)(3)(A)-(C).

These reports contain detailed statistics on the numbers of requests received and processed by each agency, the time taken to respond, and the outcome of each request, as well as many other vital statistics regarding the administration of the FOIA at federal departments and agencies.
