Tribal Government-to-Government consultation opportunities: Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act consultation opportunities:

May 10, 2024, 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

Regions: Eastern Interior Alaska, Southcentral Alaska 

Topic of Consultation: WSA24-02, submitted by the Wrangell-St. Elias National Park Subsistence Resource Commission, and Wildlife Special Action request WSA24-03, submitted by the Bureau of Land Management Glennallen Field Office. Both request closing the Federal caribou hunts on the Nelchina caribou herd (NCH) in Units 11, 12 remainder and 13 to all users for the 2024/25 regulatory year. Both proponents also request an ANILCA §804 user prioritization analysis be conducted for the NCH

 

The purpose of this session is to provide for the opportunity for Tribal leaders and Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act Corporations and/or delegates to consult with the representatives of the Federal Subsistence Board consistence with the Federal Subsistence Board's Consultation Policy.
