Art Contest

Entries sought for Subsistence Student Art Contest

The Federal Subsistence Management Program is sponsoring its annual art contest for all students in Alaska grades K-12.  The deadline for submission is February 2, 2024.  This year, entries will focus on subsistence wildlife and one winner will be selected.  The winner’s artwork will be published on the cover of the 2024-2026 Subsistence Management Regulations for the Harvest of Wildlife on Federal Public Lands in Alaska book that will be distributed statewide.  The art contest offers an exciting opportunity for students to express their talent and creativity while sharing their knowledge of subsistence resources.

Each entry must be 8.5 by 11 inches and have a theme related to subsistence species or activities in Alaska.  All artwork must be original.  Submit entries to:

Office of Subsistence Management, Attn: Kayla McKinney
1011 E. Tudor Rd., Mail Stop 121
Anchorage, Alaska 99503-6199

Entries must be postmarked by February 2, 2024.  The official rules and entry forms are available by contacting the Office of Subsistence Management both by phone (800) 478-1456 and by email at subsistence@fws.gov or by visiting www.doi.gov/subsistence/art-contest

Scanned student artwork may be retained for use in brochures, regulation books and other publications produced by the Office of Subsistence Management.
