A national effort led by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to update the North American Digital Flora: National Wetland Plant List (NWPL). The NWPL is used extensively in wetland delineation, wetland restoration and research, and the development of compensatory mitigation goals, as well as in providing general botanical information about wetland plants. It covers all 50 U.S. states, the District of Columbia, and the U.S. Caribbean and Pacific islands that are considered to be territories of the U.S. Updating the NWPL has been a cooperative effort of the Army Corps of Engineers, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, the Natural Resources Conservation Service, The Biota of North America, states, Indian Nations, the academic community, and the scientific portion of the public. - Native Plant Information Network: Image Gallery

The center's database Native Plants of North America allows visitors to search for plants by either their common or scientific names, and the advanced search feature allows searches by combinations of fields such as light requirements, size, and bloom characteristics. It also features helpful plant lists like "Bee-friendly Plants" and "Plants for Drought," as well as lists of recommended native plants for nearly every US state and Canadian province. The listings include the scientific names and USDA classification, as well as helpful information for gardeners. - NatureServe

A service of the University of Minnesota Libraries, Plant Information Online is a collection of databases that especially focuses on cultivated plants and plant/seed sources, with contact information for nearly twenty-five hundred seed and nursery firms.
